Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Center City – Philadelphia are currently hiring Full Time Night Shift Divisional Float Registered Nurses for Intermediate Care, Med/Surge and Critical Care Units.

Divisional Float Registered Nurses will work on the inpatient units at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jefferson Methodist Hospital, and Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience. This is a fantastic way to learn more about the TJU Hospitals and learn new skills!

Divisional Float Registered Nurses are compensated their base rate + a 15% premium for an increased overall hourly rate. Divisional Float RNs will receive shift differential for night and weekends as well as holiday pay.

Staff Nurses are responsible for the following:

• Performs patient procedures within the nursing scope of practice.
• Practices safe medication administration and assesses patient responses to medication.
• Participates in reviewing and/or implementing clinical pathways and care coordination.
• Float to units within TJUH, JHN, and Methodist
• Weekend Requirement
• The ability to float to Med/Surge/Tele departments as needed

The Staff Nurse will provide professional nursing care to a group of patients within a specified time period and complete all required documentation.

Qualifications for this position include:

• BSN Degree preferred
• State Issued RN license
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years of exp. in the following units:
  • Medical Surgical
  • Intermediate Care
  • Critical Care (Critical Care Rouse required)

Conditions of Employment

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
